The hearing organ is a complex and delicate instrument that can detect everything.

Hearing Services at AHBC

We have an on-going professional relationship with local GPs and ENT consultants, who regularly refer patients to us. First time visitors to AHBC will usually undergo a full hearing test (audiogram) which will take approximately 30 minutes, determining the degree and type of hearing loss. From this test, information regarding the type and severity of hearing loss will help the ENT and Audiologist to discuss various treatments and suitable rehabilitation options available.

At AHBC, we deliver all of the following Audiological services and options to our patients;

  • Hearing assessment from newborn to adults
  • Tympanometry
  • Pure Tone Audiometry
  • Play Audiometry
  • Stapedial Reflex
  • Behavioural Testing
  • Hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation
  • Tinnitus assessment and management
  • Evoked potentials testing including Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE), Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)
  • Advanced evoked potentials testing including ASSR
  • Central Auditory Processing Disorder assessments
  • Music Therapy for Auditory Processing Disorders (certified provider of The Listening Program)
  • Fitting of swim plugs, noise protection and musicians earplugs

We also offer more than just the provision of hearing aids; using our modern testing facilities, we provide an impartial assessment of your hearing and a recommended course of action to suit your personal requirements. We have access to all the latest technology and styles of hearing aids available and are free to make an independent selection in every case. When we make a recommendation it is because it is the most suitable for your hearing loss, and your lifestyle.

We can highlight immediately any medical concerns related to the health of your ears so you can rest assured you are truly in the best possible hands when it comes to your hearing.
